Foggy Frampton

   This is as Good as it Got.......

 Bird Club trip and Despite the visibility down to about 50 yards most of the time We did get Brent, Barnacle, Canada, Greylag and White-fronted Geese. Wigeon and Mallard. Oystercatcher, Redshank and Curlew. Goldfinch and A Sparrowhawk. other than that a waste of time but fun all the same.

Whitacer Heath

  Quiet everywhere except the feeders. loads of Blue and Great Tits. 5 female Pheasant. 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Grey Squirrel. 1 Jay and a Common Buzzard. flushed a Muntjac in the reeds at the back.

25th October


A trip from Hunstanton Norfolk to seal island on board the Sealion.
30 to 40 Common Seals out on a sand bank the youngest about 4 months old.









Bird Migration going on all around but most stuff distant
did get
Red-necked grebe, Gannet, Common and Velvet Scoter, Sanderling, Turnstone, Knot, Curlew, Bean and Pinkfooted Geese. LBJs mostly Twite, Skylark and Corn Buntings. plenty of Fieldfare and Redwing also Comming in Off the Wash.

Seeswood Pool Warwickshire

  A quick look at the pool to test my new lens. though I might get a shot of Mute Swan or Mallard or even an Angler
   Osprey whats the chances of that. Apparently better than Mute Swan, Mallard or Anglers even if it was distant and being mobbed by Corvids

Yesterday Bird Club Trip.

 Paxton Pits Cambridgeshire.
   Red Kite on the A14 near Junction 13.Nightingale,Lesser Whitethroat, Garden Warbler, Cuckoo for the year list. also Cettis Warbler, Willow Warbler, Chiff Chaff and Whitethroat. Drake Red-crested Pochard
Sand Martin, House Martin and Swallow and Common Terns other birds of note.


Diddington Pits
   Wood Sandpiper, Grey Partridge and Hobby for the Year List, other than Oystercatcher and Common Terns not much else here and all birds except for those mentioned were distant.


Summerleys Northamptonshire
   Sedge Warbler and Gargany for the year list, Kestrels using a nest box, Green Woodpecker, another Woodsandpiper, Greenshank, Redshank, Ruff, Little Ringed Plover, Reed Bunting, more Cettis and Whitethroats along with Willow and Reed Warblers.

   Wyre Forest Shropshire on another Bird Club outing. Mixed sunshine and cloud but warm. loads of Dog Walkers as Usual and Bike riders. A few Birder's around.
   BIRDS were Jay, Carrion Crow, Raven, Buzzard, Dipper, Redstart, Blue, Great, Coal and Willow Tit, Nuthahtch, Wood Warbler, Chiff Chaff, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Tree Pipit and A Hawfinch.
   BUTTERFLIES were Peacock, Speckled Wood, Small tortoiseshell, Brimstone and Orange Tip.
And A Good Day was Had by all.

   Whitacre Heath.
    A walk around the reserve found Lesser-Spotted Woodpecker, Muntjac and Grass Snake, Chiff Chaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcap.
   Feeders had Goldfinch, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Dunnock, Redpoll and Pheasant and at the Pool Hide had Gadwall, Little Grebe, Coot, Moorhen and Mute Swan and at least 1 Singing Reed Warbler.
   Also Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock and Brimstone Butterflies

   Yesterday a trip to Brandon Marsh for the Spotted Crake got me distant and brief views of the bird. A few year ticks as well in Sand Martin, Swallow and Little Ringed plover. Also Cettis and Chiff Chaff and Golden Plover. A Peregrine and 3 Buzzards.

   Today at Whitiacre Heath had Blue and Great Tit, Dunnock, Chiff Chaff, Reed Bunting, Pheasant, Kingfisher, Redpoll, Green Woodpecker and A Male Sparrowhawk.

   Coton was quiet again today. No Martins but did get Chiff Chaff, Cettis Warbler, Green Woodpecker, Kingfisher, Gadwall and Tufted Duck. Mute Swan, Canada Goose, Greylag Goose and Black-headed Gulls.
   Shustoke also Quiet. Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Buzzard, Kestrel, Cormorant, Pied Wagtail, Greenfinch and Chaffinch also more Chiff Chaff. A few small Tortoiseshell Butterflies and Peackocks and one or two small brown things that I never got close to.
